The BBC reported on the 25th that Dyson announced that it will set up a large robotics center at a campus in Hravington, Wiltshire, England, to develop housekeeping robots. 250 robotics science engineers will conduct research and development work at the center.
In recent years, Dyson has vigorously recruited and developed robotics-related professional technicians, involving machine vision, machine learning, sensors and mechatronics. Dyson announced in November 2020 that it would invest an additional $3.67 billion over five years in research and development of new technologies and products. Investments will focus on emerging technologies, hiring skilled talent in areas such as software, machine learning and robotics in Singapore, the UK and the Philippines.
Dyson announced in January 2019 that it would relocate its headquarters from the UK to Singapore. The reason has nothing to do with the UK’s withdrawal from the European Union, but rather the opportunities provided by the Asian market for corporate development.
